Shared costs, settled

Split the bill. Keep the friendship.

Penny splits bills inside a group. It tracks who paid and who owes, then shows the fewest payments that settle up.

Three steps

  1. 1

    Make a group

Add the people you share costs with. A group has one main currency. Groups never mix.

  2. 2

    Add the bills

Enter what was paid and who joined. Split it evenly, by share, or item by item.

  3. 3

    Settle up

Penny shows each balance, then reduces the debts to the fewest payments.

What Penny handles

Two totals, never netted

You see what you owe and what you are owed as separate numbers, grouped by currency.

Other currencies welcome

Pay in any currency. Penny stores the original amount and converts at the rate for that date.

Fewer payments

Simplification finds the smallest set of transfers that clears the group. It never rewrites who owes what.

People without accounts

Add someone who has not signed up. They can owe, pay, and be paid. They can link an account later.

Coming next: photograph a receipt, or describe the bill in plain language, and Penny fills in the items for you.
